PBS Picks Up Spike Lee's "Passing Strange"


PBS' has picked up Spike Lee's film adaptation of the rock musical "Passing Strange" for its "Great Performances" series at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The film that is set to air in 2010, is the story of a young black man who leaves behind his middle-class upbringing in mid-1970s Los Angeles to travel to Europe, where he finds he can exploit his "South Central" persona.

A theatrical release for “Passing Strange” is in talks for early fall. The play has received seven Tony nominations
